If you look at the very first golf cart you can see that it has not changed a great deal since then. If you need to travel around a golf course the practicality of the simple golf cart becomes obvious. Most golf carts are powered by either a gas engine or an electric motor powered by batteries driving two of three or four wheels.

You may sometimes get a golf cart with a little minor accident damage where someone has bumped into it but they don’t suffer a lot from wear and tear. With the correct maintenance and servicing you can expect a golf cart to last for many years making a used golf cart a great buy when compared with the cost of new ones.

It doesn’t cost a lot to run a golf cart and both the gas powered and electric ones are very economic. I know people who have no idea which type they own all they care is that it works and it is easy to drive.

Anyone buying used golf carts should check that it has been serviced correctly. Regular servicing is obviously important but there isn’t a lot of wear on either electric or gas carts so it is not too expensive. The electric golf carts have far fewer moving parts and servicing often involves little more than a quick check to ensure the electrical connections are in order. They don’t often need any attention but obviously wheels, tires and brakes should be checked regularly.

You see special customization jobs on golf carts owned by people who just want to be different. You get to see all sorts of custom carts and people like to decorate them to suit their passions. We all like to consider ourselves special and that can be shown in your golf cart.

I never understood why they are called golf carts because they are used at many other places as local transport vehicles. They are used at locations such as them parks and factory sites because they are such simple and reliable little vehicles.

Not many people give much thought to the humble golf cart but they do a terrific job for a relatively small cost. There are few other vehicles that make such a good used buy and they can be used for a lot of other purposes. If you do some searching online you can find websites listing golf carts being offered for sale.
